Colombo-Beijing (via Malaysia,Thailand, Myanmar,Tibet) Feb/April 2007Having spent the month of January at my place in Sri Lanka, I took a night flight from Colombo Airport on 4 February (Sri Lanka Independence Day).  After a jungle detour to reach the airport (some minor terrorist activity on the main road) I embarked with Malaysian Airlines for KL or Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.  This was a 3 ½ hour flight with a 2 hour time change (forwards) so it was already morning when I arrived...
